THE AGIO COLLECTION

The Agio Collection is a small, fine collection of  Greek heritage art, textiles, antiques and small antiquities and is composed of four collection periods, within the Agiorgiti Residence.  The collection includes valuable vintage and replicas. Additionally, it contains the original art works and dress creations of Kalliroy Agiorgiti (1934-2009).  All items are an ingrained part of the home's design and contribute to its unique atmosphere.

All relevant artifacts within the home, have been declared and documented by the Ministry of Culture of Athens.

The First Collection period - Collected by Kallirhoe Agiorgiti between the 1950-1967 in Greece and Lausanne, including :
  • Byzantine heirloom icons and artifacts
  • Greek traditional Greek / Macedonian/ Sarakatzan costumes and jewelry
  • Greek traditional textiles and woven Anatolian rugs
  • Jewelry from the Ottoman period in Greece
  • 18th and 19th century porcelain and art 
  • Kallirhoe Agiorgiti's own artistic work - mainly lithographs, silk screens, dresses and painted tapestries
 The Second Collection period- Collected during 1968- 1980's  including:
  • ​Chinese pottery ranging from  - Ming period up  to the foundation of the Peoples Republic of China
  • European painting, antiques, 19th century books, paintings and Anatolian carpets
  • Greek artifacts and commissioned copies of important  18th century portraits of notable Greeks
  • Persian vintage ceramics and textile
  • Latin American antiques and traditional vintage artifacts and textiles​
  • International designer's unique vintage creations worn by Kallirhoe, containing Greek heritage elements including Hermes, Gucci, Wedgewood, Valentino, Diane von Furstenberg,  Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, James Galanos, Pierre Cardin,  SaksFifthAvenue, Salvatore Ferragamo, Schiaparelli, Lanvin, Missoni, Mary McFadden ...​

The Third Collection period- Collected during 1980's -  including:
  • Classical antiquities and Greco-Roman artifacts
  • 18th- 21st  century first/ second editions - including Byron, Valentine Edmond and Kazantzakis original works
  • European antiques and 18th century oil painting
  • Modern art by Greek artists
  • Photograph originals by Nelly's (Elli Sougioultzoglou-Seraidari 1899-1998)​

The Fourth Collection period- This collection began by Matina Agio in 2009,  with the intent of  extending the collections  includes:
  • Bactrian antiquities and seals
  • Kilix and drinking vessels and 3rd century BC Attican pottery
  • Egyptian ancient textiles and sample of Coptic 3rd century textiles
  • Corinthian and Tanagra  statuettes
  • ​Greek and Greco - Roman coins
  • Wine drinking vessels originals
  • Coins  from Greek history antiquity and seals
  • ​Chinese  Neolithic sculpture Hongshan period
  • Fine reproduction Attican pottery by Thetis Authentics Ltd.
  • Hellenistic fibula, buttons and artifacts for dress
  • Hellenistic tableware including forks and spoons 
  • Orientalist painting, engravings and Philhellenism art
  • Vintage creations from notable heritage fashion extended the fashion collection and design brands using Greek elements
  • Contemporary Greek and international designers integrating Greek elements in their design as Zeus& Dione, Mary Katranzou ...​​
